Well, when I started this post baseball season had just kicked off and now we have gone to our end of season party so that tells you how caught up on life I am.
Regardless of my lack of regular blogging capabilities I still have so many posts that I want to share so just bear with me as I make my way through them.
Grayson decided he wanted to give baseball another go during fall ball and loved it so much that we knew we would be signing him up for spring ball. He was more than ready to start practicing again and after a few games, everything seemed to click for him. All he wanted to do was practice. After school, during his regular practice time, on the weekends, after games. This was a big change for the kid who has shown minor interest in sports but an overwhelming interest in insects, animals and all things not sports. We have always let him decide when he wants to play and encourage him in whatever it is he wants to do and we will continue to do that throughout his life so when he wanted to practice, we practiced.
Whatever it is that sparked this change we are thankful for because it gave him something else to love and work hard at which is what I think we all want for our kids in our owns ways; to learn how to work hard and love the things that they are doing. This season went by quickly and once again he was sad when it ended. We signed him up for baseball camp this summer and he asks me at least once a week if it’s time for baseball camp yet.
Olivia was his biggest fan again and always will be. She decided she wanted to play baseball too and practiced with him in the backyard but has since declared that she is just going to do ballet. I have to admit, she has quite the arm on here though. We may reassess the softball situation in a year or two.
The season ended and with it emerged this little boy who has another love. Will it stick around? Only time will tell but whatever he chooses to do we know he will do it with heart.
