Today we are taking cover in the house while a storm rages outside. That may be a little dramatic but we are under a Gale Warning and these wind gusts are crazy. The waves look angry and the rain just keeps coming down. It’s probably a pretty typical rainy/windy day for these coastal towns but it makes me wonder what their true stormy season is like.
Yesterday was a beautiful day though. It started out cloudy but then the sun started shining. The kids declared it a beach day and we were more than happy to oblige.
It was chilly at first but it quickly warmed up some once the sun came out.
Grayson played in the sand for a little while but as soon as Graham asked if he wanted to go catch some shrimp crabs he was done with sand castles. And catch shrimp crabs they did. They spent a couple of hours out there only stopping because Graham realized his hands were turning blue.
Olivia and I left the shrimp crabbing to the boys while she served me delicious meals she cooked up in her kitchen. Someone built this little house with all the driftwood that washes up on shore and we had a great time playing in it.
Once they had their fill of sand and shrimp crabs we went back to the house and took it easy. The first couple of days surprisingly wore us out so it was nice to just hang around the house all day.
It’s suppose to rain all day and part of tomorrow so I anticipate the cabin fever setting in quickly. It will be a good recharge though because I see us being outside the majority of the weekend.
