Christmas Eve is always one of my favorite times of the holidays. I love going to Christmas Eve service with my family and listening to choir sing about the real reason for Christmas. The birth of our Savior is why we celebrate and sometimes I think we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season and forget. We worry about buying presents and making sure the house is decorated perfectly while planning the perfect menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I’m guilty of it. Every year I run around like a crazy lady trying to figure out what the heck to buy people that already have everything they want. It’s nice to go to service and come back down to reality. To be reminded that Christmas isn’t about all the presents, it’s about Him. This year we got to share that with Grayson and he did really well. He loved the Silent Night candle light song and even danced some. As we were in the car after church the hubs and I talked about how different this Christmas Eve was for us. I remember looking at him during Silent Night and thinking to myself, “This is so special. This is what it’s about. I’m here with my family, sharing all of this with Grayson and with our baby girl growing inside of me. This is more than I could have ever hoped for.” Little did I know, he was thinking the same thing. After the service we went over to NaNa and PaPa’s house for dinner and presents. It was a great way to end a wonderful day.He does NOT like things on his head so he was not a fan of his helmet but he needed it for his big present. Later that night the Hubs and I got to do something we had been looking forward to since we decided to start a family. Play Santa’s Elves. It was so neat to do what our parents had done for us for so many years for our child. It was a pretty great Christmas Eve. I’ll be back with our Christmas Day photos soon.
